About Us

The Rack and Barrel began in 2022 when five friends came together with a simple goal: to form a pool team and compete in the local league. What started as a small group sharing a passion for cue sports quickly grew into something much bigger.

As new players joined, they brought with them a wide range of interests and talents. Before long, The Rack and Barrel had expanded beyond pool, developing into a thriving community involved in a variety of grassroots sports and activities. Today, our members take part in English Pool, Blackball Pool, Darts, Snooker, Football, Chess, Foosball, and more.

At our heart, we remain a group of friends brought together by a shared love of sport, competition, and community. We believe that grassroots sport should be welcoming, inclusive, and accessible to everyone, regardless of experience or ability. Whether you're looking to compete, improve your skills, or simply meet like-minded people, you'll find a place at The Rack and Barrel.

By 2026, our growth had reached a point where the venues we relied on could no longer consistently meet our needs. Limited access to facilities and increasing membership numbers made it clear that it was time to take the next step. As a result, we made the decision to establish our own dedicated venue and formally transition from an informal group of friends into a bona fide Sports and Social Club.

Today, The Rack and Barrel officially consists of 31 registered members, with a further 30 membership applications awaiting approval. Once our new venue is secured and all necessary permissions and licensing requirements are in place, these applications will be processed and membership applications will reopen.

This is an exciting new chapter for our club. As we continue to grow, our commitment remains the same: to provide a welcoming environment where people can enjoy sport, build friendships, and be part of a vibrant community.
